Refund & Cancellation Policy

Cancelling a booking

You can cancel from My Bookings in your account at any time before the slot starts. What you get back depends on when you cancel:

• More than 24 hours before the slot — full refund of everything you paid, including any booking fee.
• Within 24 hours of the slot — the amount paid is not refunded. You can ask the venue directly whether they will reschedule, though this is at their discretion.
• After the slot start time, or not turning up — no refund. The venue has held the court for you.

Transferring your slot

Inside the 24-hour window you can pass a confirmed booking to another CricBook account at no charge. The new holder takes on the booking as it stands; we do not re-price it. Transfers are not available once the slot has started.

If the venue cancels

If a venue cancels a confirmed booking — closure, maintenance, double-booking, or any other reason on their side — you receive a full refund, regardless of timing. Where we can, we will also offer you an equivalent slot at the same or a nearby venue.

Closures and events outside anyone’s control

If a session cannot go ahead because of a public holiday closure, power failure, flooding, civil disruption, or another event outside reasonable control, you receive a full refund or a free reschedule, whichever you prefer.

Cash bookings

Where a venue accepts payment in cash on arrival, there is nothing for us to refund if you cancel — but the cancellation rules above still apply, and repeated no-shows may mean a venue declines future cash bookings from your account. Where you paid a deposit online and the balance in cash, the deposit is refunded on the same terms as any other online payment.

How refunds are paid

• Refunds go back to the original payment method. We do not refund to a different card or account.
• We start the refund within 2 business days of the cancellation.
• Card refunds usually appear within 5–14 business days, depending on your bank. Wallet refunds are typically faster. The time your bank takes is outside our control.
• Refunds are made in Sri Lankan Rupees for the amount paid. We do not cover exchange-rate movement on foreign cards.

Season passes and recurring bookings

A season pass or recurring series can be cancelled for a pro-rata refund of sessions that have not yet taken place, provided the request is made more than 24 hours before the next session. Sessions already played are not refundable.

Something went wrong

If the court was not as described, was unavailable when you arrived, or the session could not go ahead, contact us within 48 hours at hello@cricbook.lk with your booking reference. We will investigate with the venue and, where the complaint is upheld, refund you in full.
